The following resolution has been accepted by the Board of Directors of Software in the Public Interest, Inc.:
WHEREAS:
- Software in the Public Interest, Inc. (SPI) must pay certain expenses to manage its resources and fulfill its functions; and
- there is insufficient documentation regarding how donations made prior to January 2002 were earmarked;
RESOLVED THAT, five percent (5%) of the funds that SPI controlled in its AXP Cash Management Account with American Express Financial Advisors as of 1 January 2002 shall be considered earmarked for SPI use;
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the remaining ninety-five percent (95%) of the funds that SPI controlled in its AXP Cash Management Account with American Express Financial Advisors as of 1 January 2002 shall be considered earmarked for the Debian Project.
